I created pressing matter out of a desire to learn a new skill, letter press had always intrigued me. I was inspired by Anni Albers' typewriter patterns and how the medium determines the outcome, the only available shapes are the letterforms/symbols

I decided that I would make my own patterns but instead using letter press. The technique was extremely satisfying Although long winded. Letter press as a medium was a great way to add that same sort of randomness to my work, I also used the Foot of the type so that the size of each mark would be determined by the form factor of the letter. I loved how my prints came out and enjoyed all the exploration but I found my favourite outcome was the blocks of type I made.
